UMD Professional has new regional venues for its ILM Level 5 Diploma in Management course for dental practice managers. New courses starting in March and April will be held in Tewkesbury, Penrith, Brighton, Bury St Edmunds, Chester, Luton, Leicester and Taunton. In addition, courses are also running in Leeds and London. In some areas, a limited number of grants towards the course fees are still available. Volunteers needed to pilot new online portfolio. The FGDP(UK) is developing an innovative new online portfolio system which it expects will provide significant value to all members. PebblePad is a personal learning system which will allow you to record, reflect on and evaluate learning throughout your career. The pilot will run from 15 February to end of May 2010. You can continue to use PebblePad while any modifications are made until the launch late 2010/early 2011. To join, please email the FGDP(UK) at fgdponlineportfolio@rcseng.ac.uk . You will then be sent login details and guidance notes to get you started. Glenys Bridges, Managing Director of the Dental Resource Company, has been appointed as an Honorary Vice-President of the BDPMA. Glenys is a Fellow of the BDPMA and was one of the founder members. Speaking about the appointment, Amelia Bray, BDPMA Chairman, said: “Glenys brings valuable experience from the world of dental training to the BDPMA team.

- Dental Protection has announced that, with effect from April 2010, the use of injectable, non-permanent cosmetic procedures such as botulinium toxin and non-permanent dermal fillers in any part of the face (but excluding the neck) can be indemnified within normal subscription categories at no additional cost, subject to certain conditions.
