Amelia Bray - Chairman
Amelia joined the industry as a dental nurse back in 1994, having previously worked in veterinary & chiropractic clinics. In 2000 she assisted her boss (now husband) to relocate the dental practice from a town centre premises to a converted barn in the middle of an apple orchard in the Tamar Valley, and at this point assumed the role of practice manager. Amelia completed the Diploma in Professional Practice Management in 2004 and has been involved with the BDPMA since 2000, starting out as Treasurer of the Devon & Cornwall Region before joining the National Executive as Assistant Secretary, Secretary then Treasurer and now Chairman. Away from work she’s a busy mum & step-mum who enjoys cake making & decorating, watching the mighty Green Army (that's Plymouth Argyle to the uninitiated!) and relaxing on her old Looe fishing boat with a gin and tonic! |

Jill Taylor – Vice Chairman
Jill joined Botanics Dental Care in Glasgow in May 1997 when it was known as John Whyte Dental Practice. She worked as a Senior Dental Nurse until March 2008 when current Practice Principal, Dr Colin Gardner, purchased the practice. Her duties were extended to cover the role of Practice Manager. Due to the limited availability of educational and support networks in Scotland, Jill decided to join the BDPMA and attend its regular seminars in England with the full support of Colin.
Jill's qualifications include: the National Certificate in Dental Nursing 1996, Implant Dental Nurse training 1998, Practice Managers qualification 2000, Certificate in Dental Radiography 2008. Jill believes that the practice manager’s role is constantly evolving as many gain more in-depth involvement with the running of the business and employment issues. She believes that each and every member of the BDPMA stands to gain invaluable insight, knowledge and support from other members by attending the regular meetings and workshops. These provide the perfect opportunity to network with like-minded fellow professionals. Jill enjoys relaxing with her husband Scott by taking long walks along the beach near to their home in the West of Scotland. |

Dave Hancock – Marketing Co-ordinator
The BDPMA engaged my services in May 2009. I pull together the editorial material for publications, leaflets and the monthly e-newsletter. In addition, I arrange for the website to be updated. I am keen to involve all BDPMA members with what I do and am always thrilled to receive news items or articles – don't worry about spilling (sic), I'll sort that out. Email me on hancock@dashmedia.demon.co.uk. My background is journalism, PR and marketing at which I've been freelancing for many years. Working from home in beautiful Shropshire, I confess to often looking out of the window. My hobbies are running, cycling and, from the summer of 2009, canoeing on the nearby canal with my wife, Dorothy. |
