Q Is a defibrillator mandatory?

I have received a flyer telling me that it is now a legal requirement to have a defibrillator at the practice. Is this true?

A
It is not yet law to have a defibrillator – however practices must be able to demonstrate that they are aware of the location of the nearest one or the time wit would take for an equipped ambulance to reach them.

Investigations should be documented and the advice from Dental Protection, considered. To read their full statement, visit www.dentalprotection.org and put defibrillators into the search box.
