Origins
The Association began in 1993 with a group of managers at a seminar in Birmingham. The managers found they gained as much from meeting regularly and sharing their experiences as they did from the formal content of the seminar. They agreed to convene on a regular basis and from such humble beginnings a national, well-respected organisation of hundreds of members was born.

Growth
We have been proud to welcome over 200 new members to the Association each year for the last three years. We believe our growth reflects the search by practice managers for ways to meet one another, exchange ideas and participate in activities designed specifically to promote their own professional development, and we constantly strive to find new ways to deliver just that.

Present Day
The Association now boasts over 700 members spanning the UK. You need never feel isolated as a manager again as we have no doubt that a fellow colleague and member of the Association is close by.

You’re Amongst Friends
Some folk get a bit anxious about joining a new crowd so they stay away. Let us alleviate any doubts you have right now: we may all come from a variety of backgrounds and have different levels of experience and qualifications but everyone is really friendly and highly supportive. You definitely won’t be a stranger for long.
